What Is Laser Engraving?

Sub-Surface Laser Engraving, normally known as SSLE, is the process of taking an image and engraving it inside a crystal. Traditionally, these images were restrained to generic images such as flowers, animals, etc. but now, thanks to the latest technology, these photo-crystals can now be personalised.

Using special software, the 2D image is converted into what is known as a point cloud image, this image being compatible with the laser engraving machine.

A blank crystal block is then placed in the laser machine and the actual 2D etching begins.
